Emery is a great store for 80’s revival items (among other things) and endless mix-n-match possibilities for a variety of looks. As you can see I’ve got one urban/grunge look complemented by items from EBT (Emotional Blackmail Threads), and one look that’s a bit glam. The messenger bags from EBT come with a million texturing options.

Much to the delight of my frugal heart it was (still is?) a group GIFT from Rotten Toe when you join the House of Munster group (it’s on a table among other cool gifts but you need to be in the group; hence, group gift). I ended up putting together two different looks with it.

I’m embarking on a trip back home this weekend where I get to attend a Big Fat Catholic Wedding.  Yes, I’m wearing a dress *sobs heavily* So in contrast I’m wearing rocker chic in SL so I can feel more like myself in at least one life!

I totally heart this shirt from ATOMIC particularly for the little side ties. I think simple prim accouterments such as these can take a good piece of clothing and make it GREAT!

The (Not So) Great Inventory Delete

Once upon a time a good little resident looked at her inventory of 45,000 items and decided to do her part in lightening the load. The goal was to ditch space-wasters such as landmarks and notecards. She did that, and oh so much more! Imagine her surprise when she realized she deleted–truly deleted, as in “Empty Trash” deleted–approximately 12,000 items. These were not just any items, oh no sirree. *sarcasm on* Thankfully, I still have penis hoverbikes, giant bottles of lube and my banana phone *sarcasm off*  What did I manage to delete? About 10,000 items contained in a folder that had every single piece of clothing purchased in the years 2007, 2008, and 2009. The good news? I still have my 2004, 2005, 2006 clothes which I lovingly refer to as my Vintage Collection. *sigh*

To be fair, the powers-that-be were extremely helpful and understanding, but alas, all attempts were futile. Upon Plurking my plight I also experienced the true generosity of other residents.  After accepting gifts from a few, I refused any further help. I had come to terms with what I had done and decide to reap the rewards of a quicker loading 29k inventory and slowly rebuild. Honestly, a lot of what I had lost was no longer worn anyhow, but on the other hand many were favorites, particularly for mixing and matching.

And, as such, this is a bit of renewal as well as a challenge for me as I am starting off basically from scratch clothing-wise. As I attempt to delve back into blogdom I’m sure I’ll be playing with different formats and layouts and such and would love honest feedback as I’ve been away from the scene for awhile. I thought I’d start with a look that shows my personality best…

Who: Queenie Extraordinaire. I am essentially the polar opposite of whatever images my avie’s name may evoke.
In RL I am the anti-pink, hard-rockin’ nature-lovin’, NASCAR-watchin’, animal-wranglin’, spider-hatin’, former Yankee/Southern transplant and I tend to be a doormat at work with a lot of foul-mouthed opinions in the privacy of my own backwoods home.
InSL I am the anti-pink, hard-rockin’ ex-DJ, ex-socialite, model, intermittent magazine writer, customer service gal who tends to be a doormat unable to say no, with the occasional foul-mouthed opinions on my Plurk.

What: Whatever I feel like…gawsh! Actually, I haven’t quite decided yet. I’ve done fashion blogging, I’ve done “everything-else” blogging. This may be a hybrid since I don’t spend the ol’ limetrees (aka $L) like I used to…unless it’s skin, hair, poses. Ok, sometimes I spend 😛

When: Ain’t making no commitments!

Why: Why not? I’ve thoroughly enjoyed blogging, and just writing in general, in the past. I’m on hiatus from AVENUE Magazine because SL deadlines do not fit into my currently erratic and unpredictable RL. This is merely an outlet in a time where I can hardly make any commitments to myself, let alone others. And for those scratching your chins and saying: “But you’re on Plurk” or “But you’re in-world”…yeah, I am. That’s typically mindless chatter or me standing alone on a skypad while I work on my second monitor. I come home from work with fried brain these days and I can Plurk or stand around looking semi-hawt. I’m easily distra-SQUIRREL!!-um, distracted and would love a third monitor.
